Staging Wilmington Property to Sell: the Interior of the Home

Read about how to stage the interior of Wilmington property.Last week, we discussed how to spruce up the exterior of Wilmington property to create a great first impression for potential buyers. Now it’s time to tackle the interior of the house. Of course, you’re going to do a deep cleaning and major decluttering of the house. The operative words for staging are spacious and bright. Consider removing some of the furniture from the living and dining room so there’s more space. Rearrange furniture into conversational groups. Set the table for a nice dinner. Replace dim light bulbs with bright new ones so your rooms glow. If you are planning to repaint, go for light colors. A warm white or beige would both be good choices.

Let Your Gorgeous House Convince People on Living in Wilmington

It’s important for each room in the house to have a clear purpose. Consider setting up a spare bedroom as an office or a craft room. Also, if you have any unusual nooks around your Wilmington property, like an alcove under the stairs or a landing at the top of the stairs, give it a job. A cosy armchair with a few books is one idea. Another way to put the space to use is to put a small desk there. Or, for corners that don’t get a lot of light, add a mirror in a cool frame to bring in light.

Work to make your house look inviting to people thinking of living in Wilmington. As you clean and declutter, you’re getting a jump start on moving day. You’re also putting in the work to get the best deal for your house.

Staging Wilmington Real Estate Part 1: the Exterior and Entryway

Read our blog on how to stage Wilmington real estate. When it comes to selling your Wilmington real estate and getting top dollar, home staging can really help you get the best deal. What is home staging? In addition to all the cleaning and decluttering you’re going to do anyway, staging means arranging furniture and living spaces so that people can easily imagine living their lives in your Wilmington home. And because first impressions are formed so quickly, we need to start with the exterior of your home.

Make sure the house number is easily visible from the street. This makes the house easy to find, which helps potential buyers feel less stressed. An attractive porch light and a freshly painted or new front door will make your home seem more inviting. If you have a porch, set out a couple of deck chairs and a small table to create a comfortable outdoor space. Bright flowers along the walkway and a freshly-mowed lawn complete the look.

The Exterior of your Wilmington Home Will Give Buyers Their First Impression

Once buyers have come through the front door, make sure they’re greeted with a place to easily set down or hang up their coats. A set of hooks or small table near the front door are great touches. Even if they keep them on, it gives them a sense that they are welcome. A pleasant-smelling home is important. Go for natural scents, like lavender or freshly baked cookies. What do you see when you first enter the house? Make sure it’s something beautiful, like a painting or other piece of art.

Stay tuned for next week, when we tackle how to stage the interior of Wilmington real estate.
